Middle Years Program

Junior High (Middle Years Program)

The Middle Years Program (MYP) is for students aged 11-16. The MYP aims to develop critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as a deep understanding of global contexts and the interconnections between subjects. The MYP emphasizes inquiry-based learning, where students are encouraged to ask questions, investigate, and develop their own ideas and perspectives.

The MYP is organized around eight subject groups: Language Acquisition (Foreign Language), Language and Literature, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, Arts, Physical and Health Education, and Design.

Assessment is based on a range of methods, including formative and summative assessments, self-reflection, peer assessment, and teacher feedback. In addition, students participate in a community project during year 3 (8th grade) and a personal project that allows them to pursue an area of interest during year 5 (10th grade).
