Steve Winkelman is a seasoned international educator with over 30 years of experience in teaching, educational leadership, and school development. His career has spanned the U.S., Vietnam, and China, where he has led schools through periods of growth, innovation, and challenge. He served as founding Head of School in Hanoi and most recently led Concordia International School in Shanghai.

Steve brings expertise in holistic education, school design, curriculum development, and community engagement. He is passionate about creating nurturing, inclusive learning environments where students can thrive academically, creatively, spiritually, and socially.

Steve is excited to return to Southeast Asia and looks forward to supporting Yangon American International School’s continued growth.
